Introduction to Cultural Awareness

Embark on a life-changing journey of self-discovery and healing with Gan’na. This transformative program invites participants to engage in deep listening, storytelling, and cultural appreciation. In the act of storytelling, participants walk through a journey by fostering a sense of community while also learning the skills to unpack trauma through the concept of deep listening (GAN’NA).

This course will build your ability to understand and reflect on the experiences of First Nations people in Australia. Through a series of activities and reflection exercises, you will enhance your understanding and connection to First Nations values, beliefs, and identities.

All Lukas Williams’s programs have elements of experiential engagement, even if you are that highly paid executive or CEO. Lukas knows we all must learn to kneel at the knee with First Nations peoples, which leads to Lukas’s world vision — “Success is when you can master leadership from the inside out; then you can truly be the change that the world only dreams about.”

Change your life in 6 easy steps

  1. Acknowledgment of Country — Acknowledging the land you are on and the First Nations people who have cared for it for generations. This activity sets the tone by recognising the importance of connection to Country.
  2. Yarning Circle — Explore the healing power of storytelling in the form of a yarning circle. This activity encourages participants to share their stories and listen deeply to others.
  3. Deep Listening and Understanding — Dive into the practice of deep listening and understanding. This activity encourages reflection on personal practice and experiences.
  4. Understanding Our Emotions — Participants are encouraged to name and accept their emotions, fostering self-awareness and acceptance.
  5. Creating a Better Future — Explore the concept of building a better future for yourself, your workplace, and your community. This activity focuses on empowerment and forward thinking.
  6. Finish Up — In our final activity we acknowledge the importance of completing the internal healing work we’ve undertaken. This phase is about closing the circle and ensuring we leave this transformative experience with a sense of closure and empowerment.
